Retelling Mexico

This has been an exceptionally exciting couple of weeks for me here at Mexico Retold. I have had my writing published in a couple of really fabulous places, leading to more followers on Facebook and Twitter, more hits on the blog ultimately a more positive word about Mexico is getting further afield, which makes me very happy!

This happy!

This happy!

I thought that readers of this blog who don’t follow Mexico Retold on Social Media might like to see the articles, and since I am a little proud of them (oof as an English woman that was hard to say:) I decided to share them here.

Firstly, an article I wrote featured in the Metro newspaper in London. This is the newspaper that many people read, well apparently 1 million people read it. Needless to say I was rather pleased. The designers at the Metro, really went to town to make it look fantastic. Mexico is seriously hot hot hot in London right now!

Here are the links so you can actually read it although it doesn’t look quite as pretty!

Today I also proudly represented Mexico in Backpack Me’s Around the World in 80 Posts, Americas and the Caribbean section. It was a wonderful chance for me to don my creative non-fiction hat. All I can say is that when I sat down to write something for them, this story came to mind and as I wrote it I thought, I love Mexico Retold for letting this be my life!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who follows and supports Mexico Retold. I feel so honoured and blessed that I get to live in my favourite country in the world and write about it! Like I said on Facebook the other day, I would like to give you all flowers and I truly mean it!

  1. Que onda Susannah!
Thanks for participating in our Around the World series.
Mexico is one of our favorite countries in the world and, just like you, we hope a good message about this amazing place keeps on going around! Those that don’t go to Mexico, certainly don’t know what they’re missing on! 😉

  2. Great to see more positive words for Mexico. I’ve been here for two years now and I hear dodgy comments about it being dangerous etc etc on a regular basis – most of which come from people that have never been here – keep spreading the good word 🙂
